At first, there was a group of Ascalonians (on the run from the Charr, led by Prince Rurik) who were looking for refuge in Kryta. The White Mantle welcomed them, but then (see the missions 'The Wilds' and 'Bloodstone Fen') the Ascalonians discovered that all was not what it seemed, and that the Shining Blade were actually the good guys. So the Ascalonians (and you, the player/the Chosen) helped the Shining Blade in their fight against the White Mantle and the Mursaat, and the Krytans offered shelter to many of the Ascalonian refugees. In addition, the Ascalonians were offered their own settlement to the north of Lion's Arch. A large group of Ascalonians moved there, to found their own community. In the meantime, however, another group of Ascalonians had decided to take the fight straight to the Charr. They grouped up and invaded the Charr Homelands (this is how the Ebon Vanguard came into existence). They used an ancient tower as their base: the Eye of the North. Some time thereafter, during the so-called War in Kryta events, Evennia travels to the Eye of the North and asks the Ebon Vanguard for help in driving out the White Mantle for good, in return for everything Kryta has done for the Ascalonian refugees. How am I doing so far? rewrote the Ascalon Settlement part to fix a few obvious mistakes.
Krytans sent Ambassador Zain to offer Ascalon their help. My question refers to their initial interests there – why offer help to a nation that was at war with you not so long ago help while you have trouble with the undead swarming your lands. The initial Vanguard assault over the wall was led by Duke Barradin (aka he led the complete Vanguard over the wall). Ebon Vanguard formed up after some of the Vanguard branched off to lead the refugees over the mountains.

Should you be upward within New England, you may be one from the millions of people that received in order to encounter a good extra-spooky Halloween this particular calendar year in mild of your total lack of power on your house. If you're pondering the way you get hats, the actual post announcing the expansion helpfully describes that they're obtained in trade with regard to Halloween night things traded into a particular cap merchant NPC getting spawned in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. Claimed cap merchant will be in city most certainly a while upcoming 7 days and can stay in place for approximately each week, supplying every person an opportunity at a distinctive vacation hat — although a little bit belated.

The learning curve is pretty steep. Just try to get through the Prophecy campaign until you get to Lion's Arch, remember to use henchies and always bring the monk henchman. At Lion's Arch (LA) there's a quest giver that lets you travel to the NightFall (NF) campaign if you bought it (you can go back and forth between campaigns instantly anywhere after you finish the quest). Do that, and progress in the NF campaign until you get heroes, which are like henchmen except you have a lot more control over them (their weapons, runes, skills, you can see their energy bar, you can manually activate their skills, etc).
Things should get a lot easier when you get heroes. Remember to use the PvX wiki when you need help with builds
